AUGUSTA, Ga. – Armstrong blanked GRU Augusta 3-0 in straight sets Wednesday night in a Peach Belt Conference matchup at The ARC in Savannah, Ga.
Junior outside Kristen Koch paced the Jaguars with a double-double, posting 12 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Kailla Baptiste had eight kills and senior Jenna Keeler chipped in five. Freshman setter McKenna Heath turned in 26 assists, while junior libero Maggie Darling booked a team-high 12 digs.
With the loss, the Jags dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the PBC. The Pirates remained undefeated, improving to 8-0 on the season and 1-0 in the conference.
GRU Augusta managed a .191 hitting percentage, compared to Armstrong's .301
The Jags return to action this weekend, traveling to St. Augustine, Fla., Saturday for a league match with Flagler at 12:00 p.m., before facing Rollins in a non-conference tilt at 3:30 p.m., in Flagler Gym.
