Augusta Finishes Seventh At Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Augusta University women's outdoor track & field team finished in seventh place out of 11 teams on Saturday at the Don McGarey Invitational, hosted by Kennesaw State University, in Kennesaw, Ga.


AU sophomore standout Micah Weathers won the 5,000-meter race again in 17:56.22. Sophomore Miranda Taylor and junior McKenzie Knudsen earned second and third in the 5000, while juniors Sinead O'Bryant and Rachel Hammesfahr crossed the line in sixth and seventh.


The 400-meter dash featured AU freshman Skylar Ackerman, who placed 11th in 1:04.70, while junior Edrei Yates grabbed 14th in the 100-meter race. Senior Macy Hayes jumped 1.58m in the high jump for eighth place, while senior Mallory Howard earned 12th in the hammer throw with a distance of 38.59m.
