Seniors Lead AU in Dominant Win Over Clayton State

AUGUSTA, Ga- For Jaguar seniors Shawn Moss and Jerod Carrier, Wednesday night's game marked their last game inside Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars beat Clayton State in dominating fashion, carding a 101-56. AU moves to 8-6, 6-6 in conference play while Clayton State falls to 0-9, 0-9 in conference for the season.

In his final home game, Shawn Moss led AU with his season-high 21 points. The senior shot 70 percent from beyond the arc and added 2 steals and 2 rebounds for the night.

Fellow senior Jared Carrier scorer 7 points and added 4 assists.

Tyshaun Crawford registered a double-double, scoring 15 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Timmy Sellers scored 14 points. Darren Lucas-White and John Whitehead III also tallied double digit scoring with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Augusta dominated the stat sheet, outrebounding the Lakers 56-29. The Hags forced 12 turnovers and scored 50 points in the paint to Clayton's 14.  

Clayton State was led by Stef Korfas' 25 points.


The Augusta Men's Basketball Program is planning a drive-up celebration for seniors Shawn Moss and Jerod Carrier ON February 27th at 4:00pm at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
