AUGUSTA, GA - Outside fans will not be permitted to attend Augusta University Men's or Women's Basketball games through at least January 5th as announced by the university.
The Augusta University Athletics Department has made the difficult decision to close all men's and women's basketball games played in Christenberry Fieldhouse to spectators until further notice. Attendance restrictions will include home and visiting fans, family, students, faculty, and nonessential staff members.
"We are extremely disappointed in not allowing our tremendous fan base of Jaguar Nation to attend in person our non-conference men's and women's basketball home games," said Clint Bryant, Director of Athletics. "It is our hope that we will be able to have home fan attendance by the start of the PBC regular season on January 6, 2021. We will keep everyone posted on our ability to make that happen. We are very excited to announce that Chad Cook and SUV TV will again provide live coverage of our contests. We are very fortunate to have the high quality coverage that is provided through this relationship. As we all know these are unprecedented times and your support and patience is much appreciated. Go Jags!"
All games will be available to view through augustajags.com or the PBC Sports Network. Furthermore, the PBC Sports Network will also include a free "on-demand" feature, meaning fans can catch the action at any time.
The Augusta women's basketball team begins its 2020-21 campaign on Saturday, November 28th when it welcomes Georgia Southern for an exhibition game. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. and will be available on the PBC Sports Network. The Augusta men's basketball team starts off the year when it takes on Lander in a non-conference match-up Wednesday Dec 2nd at 6:00pm.
