Charlotte, N.C. – Micah Weathers followed up her second place finish from the previous meet the best way possible. In a field that included some of the best teams in the southeast region, along with several NCAA Division I schools, Weathers topped them all with a first place finish out of 317 individuals. The reigning Peach Belt Runner of the Week clocked with a finishing time of 18:01, 12 seconds faster than the next runner.
When asked to comment, Coach Adam Ward had high praise for her and his team, "Micah again has shown she is going to be a tough competitor come late fall. She is learning to trust her instincts and still has a lot more in her. I cannot wait to see what some cooler weather will bring for her and our women, who by the way ran AMAZING! Great progress with 4 weeks to go until the post season."
As a team, the Jags finished in ninth place out of 39. Along with Weathers, Mckenzie Knudsen finished in the top 25 (23rd) with a time of 18:47. Combined, the Jags averaged a 19:24 for their runners with a total time of 1:37:00.
