Micah Weathers Takes Second, Jags Finish Third, at Bulldog Stampede

Wingate, N.C. – The Augusta University women's cross country squad had an excellent outing at the Bulldog Stampede (6K) hosted by Wingate. The squad finished third overall with only Wingate (first) and Lenoir-Rhyne (second) finishing ahead of them.

Augusta topped several conference foes in the meet as well

Micah Weathers took second place at the race with a total time of 22:07:54, finishing just behind Mount Olive's Leah Hanle who finished with a time of 22:02:24.

Head coach Adam Ward stated, "Micah ran extremely well today and executed a smart, controlled effort! She said she felt amazing, and knows there is more to come. I'm very proud of her and the effort of our women's team today."

Along with Weathers, Miranda Taylor and Mckenzie Knudsen had top 25 finishes in the race, finishing 14th and 15th respectively. Top 50 finishers for Augusta were Madison Congdon at 30th, Sinead O'Bryant at 31st, Jaelen Alexander at 36th, and Rachel Hammesfahr at 41st.


The Jaguars travel to Charlotte, N.C. on Friday, September 27, for the Queens City Invite (5K) hosted by Queens.
