Augusta WXC Heads To NCAA Regional Nov. 4

WINGATE, N.C. – The Augusta University women's cross country team makes its 10th trip at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Wingate University. Augusta has been top-two in all five races this season.

Wingate hosts the regional at their Wingate XC Facility for a women's 6K and a men's 10K. The women will race at 9:00 a.m. and the men follow at 10:15 a.m.

"I cannot say enough about this women's team," head coach Adam Ward said. "Every time I give them a challenge they rise to it, but we still have big goals and are very excited about the upcoming region meet. Our women prefer the longer distance and the more rolling terrain of the Wingate University course, so we think that can be an advantage for us."

The Jaguars have already been to Wingate once this season and came away with a second place showing out of 19 teams at the Wingate Stampede. AU had two racers in the top 10 and four in the top 15.

Augusta most recently finished runner-up at the Peach Belt Conference Championships, where rookie Micah Weathers was named the PBC Freshman of the Year. The Jags are ranked No. 6 in the latest NCAA Southeast Regional rankings.
