MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Augusta University women's cross country team posted a second-place showing at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College, on Friday night at The Farm. Augusta has finished top two in all four meets this season.
North Georgia took the team championship, while the Jaguars finished second, host Georgia College third, Berry fourth, and Valdosta State fifth for the top scoring teams out of 19.
Georgia College standout Katherine Yost won the individual race in 21:44.9.
Senior Lara Way led Augusta in fifth place overall with a time of 22:50.0 and freshman Micah Weathers finished next at sixth place in 22:57.2. Three Jaguars came in together for 19th, 20th, and 21st. Miranda Taylor was 19th (24:02.4), McKenzie Knudsen 20th (24:05.5), and Diana Petrmichlova 21st (24:11.1).
Senior Amber Palermo ended the race in 30th (24:35.3) for Augusta, Sinead O'Bryant was 49th (25:27.4), and Rachel Hammesfahr was 64th in 26:41.0.
This marked the final regular-season competition for the Jaguars. Augusta heads to the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Columbus, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 21.
