Augusta WXC Remains Sixth In Region Ranks

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Augusta University women's cross country team remained top 10 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings with a sixth place showing in the week one edition

 

The Jaguars nearly won the Eye Opener Invitational to open the season on Sept. 1 and most recently won their home event at the Jaguar Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 9.

 

Queens stayed in first, Mount Olive bumped up to second, Anderson third, North Georgia fourth, Wingate fifth, Augusta sixth, Georgia College seventh, Flagler eighth, UNC Pembroke ninth, and Lenoir-Rhyne 10th.

 

The men's and women's teams that held the top spot in each of the eight regions two weeks ago remain in place in this edition of the rankings, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday. Additionally, there were only six teams that made a jump into second place across the eight men's and eight women's regions.
