AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State's Holly Keeper was
named the Peach Belt Conference's Runner-Of-The-Week Monday
afternoon, according to a release from the league office.
The award is the second of the season for Keeper, who set a school
record Saturday while leading the Lady Jaguars to their third
victory of the year in the ASU-UNC Pembroke-Georgia College
tri-meet. Keeper's time of 18:20 in the 5K race bested the
previous school standard of 18:22 set by Annie Kim in 2005.
A sophomore from Rifle, Colo., Keeper turned in the third-fastest
5K time in the PBC this season and won the event by 26 seconds. She
has led Augusta State in every race she has run in her career. The
tri-meet win was the second for her this season.
