AUGUSTA, Ga. --
The Augusta State women's cross country squad is ranked fifth
in the first NCAA Southeast Region poll of the regular season. The
rankings were released Tuesday by the USTFCCCA.
The Lady Jaguars got off to a good start in their season-opening
meet on Friday, Sept. 10, took first place in a meet at Georgia
College & State. The ASU women (32) outpointed SCAD (44) by 12
points to win the meet.
Sophomores Holly Keeper and Claudia Nunez-Lopez and junior Lyndsay Nichols finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, while
junior Celia Kresser (eighth) and freshman Alicia Connolly (ninth)
booked top-10 efforts.
The ASU women's team, along with the Jaguar men's
squad, returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Greater
Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
