Jags Conquer King and Tame the Lions on the Final Day of the Jaguar Rumble

Augusta Ga. – The Augusta Jaguars volleyball team had another dominant showing during the second day of the Jaguar Rumble topping both the King Tornado and the Emmanuel Lions to improve to 5-2 on the season.

In the first match, the Jags shut down King in straight sets. Augusta played solid in the first two sets holding the Tornado under 20 points. In the final set, the Jags absolutely dominated allowing only eight points to King.

In the nightcap, both Emmanuel and Augusta battled back and forth early in the first set. Augusta pulled out a late run however, and sealed it at 25-18 with a textbook kill from Kylie Martin. In the second set, early service errors plagued the Lions and the Jags jumped on the opportunity, winning 11 of the first 15 points. They would close out the set with an impressive score of 25-7. Emmanuel showed grit in the third set, fighting the Jags on every point. Augusta would not be denied however, as they finished the match with a 25-19 victory in the set.

The Jags don't have too long to wait for their next match as they take on Belmont Abbey on Tuesday, September 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
