AUGUSTA, Ga. – Fresh off a No. 3 region ranking and a trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Augusta University volleyball team is back for 2019 and released its new schedule on Wednesday morning. Head Coach Sharon Quarles announced the 2019 schedule that features 12 home events in Christenberry Fieldhouse and 32 total matches.

"The 2019 schedule provides for both competitive and challenging opponents on every date of competition," Quarles said. "With a squad size of 18, nine of which are highly talented new players, we are focused in working hard daily and executing when it matters. The goal is to get to Denver."
Augusta begins the year on the road, Sept. 6-7, in Charlotte, N.C. for the Queens Invitational - the first of three regular-season tournaments for the Jaguars. Playing in the Queens tournament for the sixth-straight season, Augusta takes on Converse and North Greenville on Friday, Sept. 6 and meets Wingate and Queens on Friday, Sept. 7 in The Levine Center.
AU hosts the Jaguar Rumble Tournament and Parents Weekend, Sept. 13-14, in Augusta, Ga. at Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jags meet Albany State on Friday, Sept. 13 and play a doubleheader with King and Emmanuel College on Saturday, Sept. 14. Georgia College will also compete in the eight-match tournament, where the Jags host five neutral-site contests.
Augusta hosts its first single match of the season when Belmont Abbey comes to the 'Berry on Tuesday, Sept. 17. After a three-match road trip, Sept. 20-21, versus West Alabama, Montevallo, and Southern Arkansas in Livingston, Ala., AU returns home to face Limestone on Tuesday, Sept. 24, before traveling to Shorter in Rome, Ga., (Sept. 28) and West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga., (Oct. 1).
Peach Belt Conference competition begins on Friday, Oct. 4 with a visit to Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla. The Jags compete in the Peach Belt / South Atlantic Conference Regional Crossover Oct. 11-12 in Mars Hill, N.C. and Jefferson City, Tenn. AU faces Lenoir Rhyne and Mars Hill on Friday, Oct, 11 and takes on Carson-Newman and Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, Oct. 12 in the final regular-season tournament of the year.
Augusta plays Queens for the second time of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 15 to kick off four home matches in the month of October. After traveling to face Lander (Oct. 18) and USC Aiken (Oct. 19), the Jaguars host Georgia College (Oct. 22), UNC Pembroke (Oct. 25), and Francis Marion (Oct. 26) for three consecutive home matches.
AU plays at Emmanuel College Oct. 29 to take on the Lions for the second time of the year and hosts Flagler Nov. 2 to begin the month of November. PBC matches take Augusta to Georgia College (Nov. 5), Francis Marion (Nov. 8), and UNC Pembroke (Nov. 9) for the final away events of the year.
The Jags end the regular-season with back-to-back home matches against USC Aiken on Friday, Nov. 15 and Lander on Saturday, Nov. 16, where the team will celebrate 2019 Senior Day.
Augusta returns nine players from 2018 and signed nine new student-athletes for the 2019 season.
