USC Aiken Too Much For Augusta In Shutout Loss

AIKEN, S.C. – The Augusta University volleyball team lost a Peach Belt Conference match to the USC Aiken Pacers in three straight sets on Friday night in the USC Aiken Convocation Center.

 

With one more regular-season match remaining, Augusta is now 21-6 on the year and 7-4 in the Peach Belt. The Jaguars are seated second in the most recent NCAA Southeast Region rankings. USC Aiken is 20-3 and 10-1 in the league. The Pacers swept the match 26-16, 25-22, and 25-18 – outhitting the Jaguars .207 to .070.

 

Senior Savanna Gonzales posted nine kills and a pair of digs and blocks for AU, senior Nathalia Gouveia had 13 digs, sophomore Holland Martin managed 15 digs, and sophomore Chloe Allen had nine digs, five kills, and an assist in the loss for Augusta. Jags junior Jessica Hedrick carded six kills and two blocks.

 

The Jaguars play at Lander in Greenwood, S.C. on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2:00 p.m.
