Augusta Ranked Third In First NCAA Southeast Region Rankings

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University volleyball team is ranked third in the first NCAA Southeast Region Rankings that were released on Wednesday afternoon by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

 

The Jaguars (18-5) join three other Peach Belt Conference schools on the 10-team list. Wingate is first, USC Aiken second, Augusta third, Anderson fourth, Lenoir-Rhyne fifth, Lincoln Memorial sixth, Lander seventh, Georgia College eighth, Mars Hill ninth, and Carson-Newman 10th.

 

Augusta has five more regular-season matches in the 2018 season. AU hosts Francis Marion (Oct. 26), UNC Pembroke (Oct. 27), and Queens (Oct. 30) before playing at USC Aiken (Nov. 2) and Lander (Nov. 3). The PBC Championships are Nov. 10-11 in Greenwood, S.C.

 

The annual Augusta University volleyball Pink Out match to raise awareness and support for the Georgia Cancer Center will take place on Friday, Oct. 26 for the Jaguars' home match in Christenberry Fieldhouse against the Francis Marion Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The Jags will celebrate 2018 Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 27 during its Peach Belt Conference match against UNC Pembroke at 12:00 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars will recognize and celebrate the careers of seniors McKenzey Beck, Blair Bolton, Nathalia Gouveia, and Savanna Gonzales in a pre-match ceremony.
