Jaguars Win 3-0 At Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Augusta University volleyball team took a break from conference play and traveled to Gaffney, S.C. on Tuesday for a midweek non-conference affair against the Limestone Saints. The Jaguars won their 12th shutout match of the season by blanking the Saints 3-0.

 

The match moved the Jaguars to 16-4 and Limestone to 9-7. AU won 25-18, 25-14, and 25-23. The Jags recorded a .302 attack percentage to LU's .122 and served up nine aces to the Saints' two.

 

Named the Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week in an announcement from the league office earlier today, AU senior McKenzey Beck nearly had another triple-double with 15 assists, nine digs, and eight kills. She currently is tied for fourth in NCAA Division II with four triple-doubles on the year.

 

Senior Savanna Gonzales notched 10 kills for Augusta, sophomore Alyssa Frazier posted six kills and four blocks, and junior Kim Krutsinger and sophomore Chloe Allen added five kills each, with Allen blocking four shots as well. Junior Cheryke Brian-Garmos picked up 18 assists and six digs.

 

The Jaguars play at Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C. on Saturday, Oct. 13 for a 6:00 p.m. first serve.
