AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University volleyball and head coach Sharon Quarles announced the signing of Kim Krutsinger, a middle hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo., who will compete in the upcoming 2018 season.

Name: Kim Krutsinger

Position: Middle Hitter

Year: Junior

Height: 6-2

Hometown / Previous School: Colorado Springs, Colo. / Jacksonville State University

"What a nice addition to the squad," Quarles said. "Kim came to us a little later in the recruiting calendar, but we are sure glad she did. She will definitely give the opposing attackers something to think about other than just contacting the ball; a smart and dynamic blocker to worry about at the net. She provides additional depth when it comes to the middle hitter position and that was an area that we needed to address for the upcoming season."

Krutsinger is a junior-transfer from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala., where she lettered in volleyball for two years. The 6-2 middle blocker helped her team reach the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship twice, while maintain academic status on the Dean's List and Honor Roll.

In 2017, she played in 90 sets in and posted 76 blocks – the fourth most for JSU. She added 28 kills on the year, while her team posted a 23-13 overall record. Krutsinger also lettered in beach volleyball during her stint at JSU. She plans to major in biology and minor in art.

Born in Bellville, Ill., and raised in Colorado Springs, Colo., Krutsinger joins four other new signees who are set to play for the Jaguars in 2018.
