MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Augusta University women's volleyball junior Savanna Gonzales was named to the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Volleyball All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the league tournament hosted by Georgia College.
Gonzales (Kennesaw, Ga.) had 26 kills and a .310 hitting percentage with only four errors in the Jaguars' two matches on the weekend. Augusta beat Lander, 3-1, in the quarterfinal match on Nov. 17, before falling to top-seeded Flagler in straight sets on Nov. 18 in the semifinal. Flagler defeated Georgia College to win their third straight PBC tournament title.
Facing Lander, Gonzales gave AU 16 kills with only four errors, while adding two digs and four block assists. She totaled six assisted blocks on the weekend with an assist. Prior to the tournament, Gonzales was also named to the PBC All-Academic team for the second year in a row.
