CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Jaguars traveled to North Carolina for a Tuesday night non-conference matchup against the Queens University Royals. AU came into the match energetic winning the first set 25-23, but dropped the next three to fall 3-1 in the Levine Center.

Augusta (10-7) returned to Queens (13-4) for the second time this year and endured a set into the 30s for the second time against the Royals on their home floor. The teams' first meeting was a four-set battle in early September for the first weekend of the season.

A competitive start to the second match, there was never more than a two-point lead in set one and Augusta held on for a 25-23 win to take the early lead on the road.

Set two saw the Jags play their third set this year into the 30s. The first timeout of the set came at 24-all. Coming off the timeout, sophomore Jessica Hedrick gave Augusta a kill, but the Royals rolled to the win 30-28.

The Royals picked up speed and ultimately took the third set 25-22. The fourth and final set was the largest point difference seen on the court of the night with AU trailing14-8 before the first timeout. The Royals rallied and won 25-14 to take the night.

McKenzey Beck's seventh triple-double of the season carried Augusta. The junior posted a team-high 16 kills, with 25 assists, 16 digs, and two blocks and junior Savanna Gonzales followed with 15 kills on the night. Freshman Holland Martin pulled in 39 digs on the stat sheet and Hedrick and Blair Bolton each had seven kills.

AU out-blocked Queens nine to four, but the Jaguars posted a .190 attack percentage to Queens' .246.
