Jags Volleyball Hosts Senior Day Weekend Nov. 4-5

AUGUSTA, Ga. – With the regular season approaching its end, the Augusta University women's volleyball will enjoy one more home stint in early November with three Peach Belt Conference Matches and 2016 Senior Day.

The Jaguars face Armstrong State on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m. The 2016 Senior Day celebration will take place prior to the match against Flagler on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2:00 p.m. Augusta welcomes Columbus State on Wednesday, Nov. 9 for their final home match of the regular season.

Augusta's five outstanding seniors – JaNhea Beisner, Jordan Bickett, Catherine DeSilvester, Bria Mays, and Rachel Windle will be honored for their Jaguar careers in a pre-match ceremony.  

All three final home matches for Augusta are scheduled to have live video and live stats. Entry into Christenberry Fieldhouse for volleyball matches is free to all!

 

THE SENIORS

Name: Catherine DeSilvester
Hometown: Carmel, Ind.
Position: Libero/DS

#3 Catherine DeSilvester has been a four-year starter for the Jaguars and the libero since her freshman year in 2013. She ranked second on the team in digs and fifth in assists as a freshman. She led the squad in digs as a sophomore and junior and helped guide the team to their best season ever in 2014. This season as a senior in 2016, DeSilvester ranks in the top 10 in the Peach Belt Conference for digs and leads the squad.

 

Name: Rachel Windle
Hometown: Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Position: Middle Hitter

#6 Rachel Windle is a two-year transfer from Indian River State College who came to Augusta for the 2015 season. Rachel started in 31 of her 33 matches played in her debut year as a Jaguar last season. That year she was named All-Conference and led the team in kills and blocks. As a senior this season while battling a leg injury, Windle has played in 14 matches and logged over 80 kills. She ranks top five on the team in kills and has 16 blocks.

 

Name: Jordan Bickett
Hometown: Tallahassee, Fla.
Position: Outside Hitter

#10 Jordan Bickett also joined the Jaguars as a junior-transfer in 2015. The season Bickett led the team in service aces and was top five for Augusta in assists, blocks, and kills. In her final year as a Jaguar, Bickett ranks fifth in the PBC in service aces and is second on the team in kills, digs, and is third in assists.

 

Name: Bria Mays
Hometown: Loganville, Ga.
Position: Middle Hitter

#14 Bria Mays transferred to Augusta from Kalamazoo Valley Community College for the 2015 season. Mays played in five matches as a junior in 2015 and logged five kills and a dig before enduring a leg injury.

 

Name: JaNhea Beisner
Hometown: Port Charlotte, Fla.
Position: Middle Hitter

#18 JaNhea Beisner is a State College of Florida transfer and has been with the Jaguars for two seasons. The defensive specialist played in all 33 matches as a junior and made 15 starts. This year as a senior in 2016, JaNhea has logged action in 25 matches and is third on the team in service aces, digs, and total attempts.
