AUGUSTA, Ga. – GRU Augusta junior Kristen Koch was named to the Peach Belt Conference's 2013 volleyball All-Conference team during an announcement at a banquet following the first day of play at the annual tournament championship in Florence, S.C.
Koch led the entire league in kills (406) and kills per set (3.50) and paced the Jaguars in attacks, sets played and was third with 304 digs (2.62 dps). She began the season with a double-double (14 kills, 20 digs) in the first match against Erskine and for the season went on to record 25 matches with double-figure kills and posted 12 double-doubles – including a streak of 16 in a row.
Armstrong Atlantic State University's Jessica Santaniello was named the PBC Player of the Year while teammate Megan Pando was honored as the Setter of the Year. Georgia College's Rachel Reynolds was named the PBC Freshman of the Year and Montevallo's Kaleigh Harvey the Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Year. Francis Marion's Paul MacDonald was selected as the Coach of the Year.
