GRU Augusta Drops Two On Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. – GRU Augusta was outlasted by Flagler 3-1 Saturday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference match and were swept 3-0 by Rollins in the Flagler Gymnasium in St. Augustine, Fla. 

Flagler (6-4, 3-1 PBC) took care of the first two sets before the Jaguars rallied to win the third meeting 25-21. Kristen Koch led the Jags (1-9, 0-2) against Flager with eight kills on 28 attempts. The Saints handled the fourth and final set to take the match 3-1 with a 25-12 victory.

The Jags' Maggie Darling paced the digs column with 15 and Koch added eight for second on the team. Newcomer McKenna Heath provided 18 assists to lead the squad and Katie Beresford and Jenna Keeler each had five blocks in the PBC loss.

Flagler's Abby Meyers led the Saints with 12 kills, Amelia Morgan paced the assists with 20, and Emilee Taylor had 14 digs to lead. The Saints outhit the Jags .164 to .010 in the four-set match and had 42 kills to GRU's 26.

Rollins blanked the Jags 3-0 in straight sets in the Jags' second match of the day. Senior Jenna Keeler's nine kills led the team and junior transfer Chandler Mass had a team-leading 18 assists. Mass and Darling each also contributed 10 digs in the 3-0 loss.

The Rollins Tars hit .304 to GRU's .056. Ruth Harrington led the Tars with 13 kills and Camille Indest had 10. April Jackson paced with 17 assists and Collyn Welsch notched a team-best 18 digs.
