Rohlfing Inks With Jaguars

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State head volleyball coach Sharon Bonaventure announced Friday the signing of Alex Rohlfing to a national letter-of-intent. Rohlfing will join the Jaguar Volleyball program for the Fall, 2011 semester.

A 6-0 outside hitter from Waterloo High School in Waterloo, Ill., Rohlfing was a four-year letterwinner and team captain for the Bulldogs. She earned first-team, all-conference honors in two consecutive seasons and was named the state's Player Of The Week on two occasions. She led the state in kills with an average of  5.3 kpg. She played club volleyball for both Southwest Illinois Volleyball Club and St. Louis CYC.

"We are thrilled to have signed a player of Alex's caliber at ASU," said Bonaventure. "She is going to add some quality depth to the outside (position) and I fully expect her to compete right away for a position."

ASU wrapped up its second season under the direction of Bonaventure on Nov. 12 with an appearance in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The Jags posted a record of 11-22 in 2010, one year after registering the second-most victories in a single season (22) in their first year under Bonaventure.
