Jags Rally Past USC Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. -- Augusta State rallied back from a 2-1 deficit Wednesday night and posted a 3-2 Peach Belt Conference victory over USC Aiken in the Convocation Center.

The contest marked the end of the Jaguars' regular-season portion of their schedule.

The victory lifted ASU to 11-20 overall and 4-10 in the conference. The Pacers dropped to 14-14 on the season and 6-7 in the league.

ASU sophomore Mandy Irizarry registered a match-high 13 kills and just missed her ninth double-double with nine digs. Freshman Karolina Stenlund posted 12 kills and junior Jessica Hanson booked 11 put downs. Freshman setter Lisa Bartsch racked up 43 assists and 12 digs, while freshman libero Andria Tagarelli had 19 digs and senior Chase Lowther added 10.

Emily Maassen and Megan Disney each had 11 kills for the Pacers. Ashley Farwell (27) and Alex Petock (42) combined for 49 digs, with Samantha Lukralie led USCA with 22 digs.

The Jags posted a .145 hitting percentage with 49 kills, while USCA turned in a .211 mark and 64 kills.

ASU returns to action Nov. 12 at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament in Savannah, Ga.
