ASU Splits In Pacer Invite

AIKEN, S.C. -- Augusta State split a pair of pair of matches Friday afternoon during day one of the Pacer Invitational at the Convocation Center on the campus of USC Aiken.

The Jaguars dropped a 3-1 Peach Belt Conference match to Montevallo before bouncing back with a 3-0 victory over Coker.

Junior Jessica Hanson led ASU offensively with 10 kills against the Falcons, while freshman Lisa Bartsch collected 29 assists and senior Chase Lowther notched a team-best 14 digs.

In their victory over Coker, senior Tarah Childress, junior Lagi Roberts and sophomore Mandy Irizarry posted seven kills each for the Jags and freshman Mary Beth Ingram recorded 25 assists and three aces. Irizarry added nine digs and four aces and Childress chipped in three aces.

In day two of the Pacer Invite on Saturday, ASU will battle Palm Beach Atlantic at 10:00 a.m., and tangle with King College at 2:00 p.m., in the Convocation Center.
