AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Valdosta State bounced back
from a loss in the first set to win three straight and register a
3-1 non-conference victory over Augusta State Tuesday night in
Christenberry Fieldhouse.
With the win, the Blazers improved to 17-7 on the season, while ASU
slipped to 7-15.
Sophomore Mandy Irizarry posted a team-best 10 kills and freshman
Mary Beth Ingram accounted for 29 assists. Senior Chase Lowther
turned in 10 digs.
Irene Hannan led three Blazers in double figures with 18 kills,
Ruthie King booked 12 and Chelsea Logan netted 10. Emelia Saulter
recorded 30 assists and King posted a double-double, adding a
match-high 20 digs, while Chelsea Luttfring added 10 digs.
ASU hosts Anderson in a non-conference match tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.,
in Christenberry.
