AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State rolled to a 3-0
non-conference victory Wednesday night over Clark Atlanta in
Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Jaguars, who had only six healthy players available for the
match, improved to 7-12 on the season and 3-4 at home. The
Panthers, who earlier in the afternoon outlasted Paine 3-2 in an
SIAC match, dropped to 9-4.
Sophomore Mandy Irizarry booked her sixth double-double of the
season with 13 kills and 12 digs. Junior Jessica Hanson racked up
11 kills against just a single error and led ASU with a .357
hitting percentage.
Sophomore Meredith Berce (17) and senior Tarah Childress (16)
combined for 33 assists and senior Chase Lowther notched 10
digs.
Krysta McGowan paced the Panthers with 11 kills and Kailyn Blackmon
had 29 assists.
The Jags hit the road this weekend, returning to their Peach Belt
Conference schedule with league matchups at Flagler and Armstrong
Atlantic State on Friday and Saturday, respectively. ASU meets the
Saints at 7:00 p.m. in St. Augustine, Fla., then faces off against
the Pirates on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
The Jags welcome Valdosta State to Augusta on Tuesday, Oct. 19 for
a 6:00 p.m., non-conference clash in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
