AUGUSTA, Ga. --
Flagler snapped Augusta State's modest two-match winning streak
Friday night, topping the Jaguars 3-1 in a Peach Belt Conference
match in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
ASU, which was making its 2010 home debut, dropped to 4-9 overall
and 1-3 in the PBC, while the Saints improved to 9-4 and 3-0,
respectively.
Flagler's Meg Weathersby, the reigning PBC Player-of-the-Week,
racked up a match-high 20 kills against just two errors and Laura
Lancaster added 12 kills. Rebecca Royal and Olivia Snipes combined
for 55 assists and four Saints reach double figures in digs.
ASU sophomore Mandy
Irizarry turned in her first double-double of the season with
12 kills and 13 digs and senior Tarah
Childress booked 10 kills. Freshman setter Lisa
Bartsch notched 38 assists and freshman Andria
Tagarelli had a match-high 16 digs.
The Jags continue their six-match homestand Saturday afternoon
when they host Armstrong Atlantic State (7-6, 1-2) at 2:00 p.m., in
Christenberry Fieldhouse.
