ASU Picks Up Road Win

GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Augusta State outlasted Lander in five sets Wednesday night, claiming a 3-2 Peach Belt Conference victory over the Bearcats in Finis Horne Arena.

ASU jumped out to 2-0 lead with 25-23 wins in the first two sets. Lander rallied with 25-13 and 25-14 wins to force the fifth and deciding set, which the Jags won 15-11.

The victory improved ASU to 4-8 overall and 1-2 in the PBC. Lander slipped to 5-6 and 0-4, respectively.

Junior Lagi Roberts notched her fifth double-double (13 kills and 13 digs) and freshman Lisa Bartsch booked her third double-double (37 assists and 22 digs). Junior Jessica Hanson posted 10 kills and six blocks, while freshman libero Andria Tagarelli racked up a career-high 30 digs. Sophomore Mandy Irizarry had 15 digs and senior Chase Lowther added 10 digs.

The Jags make their home debut and kick off a six-match homestand on Friday, Sept. 24 when they host Flagler at 7:00 p.m., in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
