Augusta State blanked Belmont Abbey 3-0 Saturday afternoon to earn
a split in a pair of matches at Smith University Center.
Senior Dianna
Meyer paced the Jaguars with eight kills and 15 digs in the
3-set win (25-14, 25-15, 25-18) over the Crusaders. Freshman Karolina
Stenlund, junior Jessica
Hanson and senior Tara Childress added seven, six and five
kills, respectively. Freshmen setter Lisa
Bartsch tallied 21 assists and freshman libero Andria
Tagarelli booked 21 digs. Junior Lagi
Roberts added three solo blocks.
In the day's first contest, Francis Marion blanked ASU 3-0 (25-13,
25-23, 25-22) to improve to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in the Peach Belt
Conference.
Hanson and Stenlund paced the Jags with eight kills each and
Bartsch notched 27 assists. Senior Chase
Lowther and Tagarelli netted 17 assists each.
The Jags (3-8, 0-2 PBC) travel to Greenwood, S.C., on Wednesday,
Sept. 22 to take on Lander in a PBC matchup at 7:00 p.m., in Finis
Horne Arena.
