Augusta State split a pair of non-conference matches Friday on the
first day of the AASU Pirate Volleyball Classic on the campus of
Armstrong Atlantic University.
The Jaguars fell to North Alabama 3-2 (16-25, 25-17, 32-30, 7-25,
15-11) in the first game of the tournament. Junior outside hitter
Lagi
Roberts had 15 kills and freshman setter Lisa
Bartsch tallied 35 assists and 10 digs.
ASU then picked up a 3-1 victory against Florida Tech (26-24,
19-25, 25-21, 25-20) in its second match of the evening. Junior

Stenlund and sophomore Mandy
Irizarry each collected 12 kills for the Jaguars while Andria
Tagarelli notched 23 digs and Lisa Bartsch delivered 37 assists
and four aces.
ASU (2-4) returns to action Saturday at 10:00 a.m., to face
Florida Southern, then faces Alabama-Huntsville at 12:30 p.m.
