Augusta State lost a pair of non-conference matches Saturday on the
second day of the AU Invitational on the campus of Anderson
University.
The Jaguars fell 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 24-26, 23-25) to the host
Trojans Saturday morning. Junior outside hitter Lagi
Roberts and freshman middle blocker Karolina
Stenlund paced ASU with 11 kills and junior middle blocker Jessica
Hanson posted 10 kills. Freshman setter Lisa
Bartsch tallied 27 assists and nine digs and freshman libero Andria
Tagarelli netted 20 digs.
ASU then took on Newberry Saturday afternoon, dropping a 3-0
decision to the Wolves (22-25, 26-28, 23-25). Hanson posted 10
kills while Roberts and Stenlund tallied nine and six kills,
respectively. Bartsch registered 31 assists and Tagarelli turned in
24 digs.
ASU (1-3) returns to action next weekend at the Chatham
Orthopedics Classic, hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State in
Savannah, Ga. The Jags meet North Alabama on Friday, Sept. 10 at
4:30 p.m.
