NEW ORLEANS, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2019 NCAA Division II outdoor track & field season on Tuesday afternoon. Augusta University senior Kiana Smith and sophomore Micah Weathers represented the Jaguars on the list. Smith earned the award for both the heptathlon and the high jump and Weathers for the 5000 meters.

The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top-three relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season. A total of 1,831 honors were handed out to USTFCCCA member institutions on Monday, which included 926 to men's programs and an additional 905 to women's programs.

Smith posted an All-Region finish in the heptathlon at the Peach Belt Conference Championships April 20, picking up 3893 points to take second overall. She was also listed as an All-Region performer in the high jump, leaping to 1.58m at the Gulf South / Peach Belt Crossover on April 6 in Huntsville, Ala.

Weathers, an All-Conference selection and a two-time PBC Track Athlete of the Week this year, earned All-Region status for the 5000 meters at The Adidas Trojan Challenge March 30. Weathers won the event with a time of 17:23.20 to best the 17-runner field.
