AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University outdoor track & field sophomore Micah Weathers was named the Peach Belt Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.
Weathers finished in third place in the 5k at the Mount Olive Final Qualifier over the weekend. The sophomore from Statham, Ga., finished in 18:04.98, less than seven seconds out of the lead. Weathers holds the top 5k time in the PBC this season, which she set at the Adidas Trojan Challenge. She also won the 5k at the PBC Championships and was named All-Conference. She has not finished outside of the top three in any 5k she has run in the outdoor season.
This is the second PBC Track Athlete of the Week award for Weathers this season, after she picked up her first of the year on April 2.
