Women’s Track Finishes Season at Seminole Twilight

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Augusta University women's outdoor track and field team sent seven competitors to the Seminole Twilight on Friday, May 4 to wrap up the 2018 season at the Mike Long Track.

 

 

In a meet more about preparation for the approaching division-I conference championships and the NCAA postseason, the Jaguars sent select student-athletes who were close to qualifying marks for the NCAA Championships.

 

Augusta sophomore sprinter Edrei Yates earned 12th in the 100 meter dash and freshman Miranda Taylor took 13th in the 1500 meter with a time of 5:18.66. In the 5000 meter race, the Jaguars sent freshman Micah Weathers, senior Lara Way, and junior Mckenzie Knudsen. Weathers led AU and placed fourth overall (18:13.10), Way was fifth (18:21.83), and Knudsen seventh (18:47.59).

 

The Jags were represented in the 3000 meter steeplechase by seniors Amber Palermo and Diana Petrmichlova. Petrmichlova crossed the line in 11:54.09 to take fourth and Palermo was right behind to take fifth in 12:13.78.
