Women’s & Men's Track Ranked Ninth In NCAA Southeast Region

NEW ORLEANS  – The Augusta University women's and men's outdoor track and field teams are each ranked ninth in the NCAA Southeast Region in week two of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) region rankings.

 

The Augusta men's track team has competed in four regular-season meets and has finished fourth or better. They took third at Columbus State and UNC Pembroke to open the season and posted fourth-place finishes at Mount Olive and Emory. AU has set four new school records for men's track.

 

The Lady Jags track squad opened the season in second at Columbus State and followed it a week later with a third-place mark at UNC Pembroke. After taking fourth at Mount Olive, the Jags carded 12th out of 27 at the Emory Classic in their largest event on the year. The Jags have set three new school records so far this season.

 

The 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from May 25-27. Check back at www.USTFCCCA.org each week throughout the season for updated rankings.
