AUGUSTA, Ga. – GRU Augusta women's outdoor track and field sophomore JaVoni Canty has been named the Peach Belt Conference's Women's Track & Field AstroTurf Athletes of the Week
JaVini Canty finished in the top three of all six events she has competed in so far this season. The sophomore from Tampa, Fla., won the discus at the Lion Jaguar Invitational with a distance of 39.17m and was second at the same meet in the shot put.
Canty was also second in the discus at the Cougar Open and second in the shot at the Savannah State Eye Opener. Her discus throw at the Lion Jaguar was the longest in the PBC this season and she is second overall in the shot put.
