AU Womens Tennis Defeats Young Harris

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University Womens Tennis team defeated Young Harris on the road on Saturday afternoon.

 

Young Harris falls to 1-11 while Augusta moves to 6-6 overall.

 

Teresa Franco Dias and Carlota Costa Manero won a 7-5 match at the No. 1 doubles spot. Clara deMiguel and Edith Rueda Croda beat Young Harris's Zoe Freke by the same margin.

Edith Rueda Croda excelled in her game at the No. 1 singles spot, defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-1. After Teresa Franco Dias was defeated in the No. 2 slot, Clara deMiguel blanked her opponent in the first set. She bested Juli Boerr 6-0, 6-1. Carlota Costa Manero won at the No. 4 singles spot 6-2, 6-1.

 

AU women's Tennis plays their final match of the season at Georgia College on Wednesday April 14th at 2pm.
