AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team won a 5-1 non-conference match over the Belmont Abbey Crusaders on Tuesday night at Newman Tennis Center.
Augusta is now 5-1 with the victory. The match was delayed four hours after inclement weather, but the Jaguars got it in to get the win.
Only one singles match went unfinished in the match. Augusta junior Eva Miralles-Miro, sophomore Ana Faria, and juniors Merye Gobernate and Alejandra Arranz all won the first four singles contest for the Jaguars. Sophomore Maria Alice Viera put AU on top 5-1, after the Jaguars took doubles play 2-to-1 to get the point.
