MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team continued Peach Belt Conference play on Monday and dropped a 5-3 road match at Georgia College.
Augusta is now 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the PBC, while GC is now 4-2 and 1-0 in the conference. Augusta junior Alejandra Arranz came back from a 6-2 loss in set one to win 6-4 and 13-11 for the Jaguars' lone victory of the day.
Jags junior Eva Miralles-Miro and sophomore Maria Alive Viera each took their second singles match to extended points, but were unable come away with the win. Ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Southeast Region, the Bobcats swept doubles play in their first conference match of the season.
The Jaguars play at USC Aiken in Aiken, S.C., on Wednesday, March 6 for a 2:00 p.m. PBC match.
