AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Jaguars hosted the Concord Mountain Lions for a midweek non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon and didn't drop a set to win 9-0 at Newman Tennis Center.
Augusta (7-5) played Concord in the Mountain Lions' first match of the season and were near perfect. The Jaguars only dropped two singles games all day.
Eva Miralles-Miro and Maria Alice Vieira teamed for No. 1 doubles, Merye Gobernate and Ana Faria at No. 2 doubles, and Flaminia Valci and Alejandra Gonzalez Arranz at No. 3 doubles for AU. All three pairs won their doubles matches 8-0.
Miralles-Miro won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Gonzalez Arranz won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Faria, Marie Cantenot, and Vieira were all perfect in their singles matches.
The Jags play a Peach Belt Conference match on Wednesday, March 14 against Columbus State in Columbus, Ga.
