Augusta Falls To No. 28 North Georgia In Final Home Match

 

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team met the No. 28 North Georgia Nighthawks on Friday afternoon and fell 8-1 in Peach Belt Conference play at Newman Tennis Center.

 

 

Augusta honored its four seniors for their four-year contributions to the program in a pre-match ceremony. The Jaguars recognized Amelia Pinoargote, Jose Cobo, Gabriel Dos Santos, and Moritz Gehlhaus.

 

UNG swept the Jags in singles play and took two doubles contests. AU's Alejandra Gonzalez Arranz and Maria Alice Vieira pulled out an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.

 

Augusta plays a Peach Belt Conference match at Georgia Southwestern in Americus, Ga. on April 13 at 12:00 p.m.
