AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team endured it first loss of the 2017 season in a 5-4 non-conference loss to the Emmanuel College Lions.
The Jaguars (4-1) won No. 2 doubles with Merye Gobernate and Amelia Pinoargote winning 9-7, but the Lions shined in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Alejandra Gonzalez Arranz,
Eva Miralles-Miro, and Pinoargote won their singles contests, but Emmanuel edged out Augusta for the win.
The Jaguars begin Peach Belt Conference competition on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Lander in Greenwood, S.C., for a 2:00 p.m. Valentine's Day faceoff.
