DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The GRU Augusta women's tennis team rolled to their third-straight win with a 7-2 Peach Belt Conference victory at North Georgia on Saturday afternoon in Dahlonega, Ga.
The Jaguars improved to 9-2 overall on the season and 4-2 in the Peach Belt.
The Nighthawks took the opening doubles win over Monica Gonzalez and Gisela Font, but the Jaguars took the next two. Aida Castany and Maria Nadal won 8-4 in number two doubles, before Maria Cecilia Pimentel and Marie Vin won a close 8-6 match in the third doubles slot.
Baratta stayed hot for UNG and won the number one singles match in three sets. GRU rallied in the next five singles match to win them all and seal a 7-2 victory on the road. Four of the last five singles matches went to three sets, but the Jags survived for the win.
The Jaguars play a non-conference match at Erskine on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. in Due West, S.C.
