Teresa Diez-Moliner Leads Augusta Women's Golf at Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – Teresa Diez-Moliner led Augusta women's golf in the loaded field at the Clemson Invitational. Hosted by Clemson, the event was held at the Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, SC. After rain delays to the tournament, Augusta finished tied for 11th on the par-72, 6471 yard course.

 

The 18 team field started with a shotgun start on Friday. The field includedClemson (Host), Augusta,  Notre Dame, Illinois, Furman, Indiana, Kent State, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Old Dominion, Louisville, Purdue, UNC Wilmington, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin

 

RESULTS

 

Kent State, who won the Clemson Invitational, held a four stroke lead after Round 1, which it extended to finish 10 strokes ahead of Virginia Tech. Maryland, Clemson, and Illinois took spots 3, 4, and 5 respectively. Purdue and Kansas finished tied for 7th with Michigan 9th and Ohio State 10th.

 

Teresa Diez-Moliner finished tied for 33rd (+5) after shooting her tournament-low even-par 72 in the final round. Napabhach Boon-In finighed tied for 39th after shooting a 77 (+5), a 71 (-1), and a 75 (+3). Mary Hunt Murray finished tied for 52nd and Nicole Page finished tied for 62nd. Charlotte Alran rounded out the Jaguar squad for tournament.

 

Next up, the Jaguars travel to the ECU Easter Invitational at the Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina April 3-4.
