Augusta Earns Top 10 Finish at Battle at the Beach

Augusta Ga. – The Augusta University Women's Golf team earned an eighth place finish in a field of 16 teams after the final day at the Battle of the Beach tournament (hosted by TCU). As a team, the Jaguars shot -2 under par for the final round of play, finishing +17 over par with a score of 881 through all three rounds. Ole Miss took home the top finish for the event, shooting 857 (-7 under par) overall. LSU took second, finishing even with their score of 864, while host TCU took home third place with a +5 over par finish.

Linda Lundqvist finished as the top player for the Jaguars, finishing the third round two strokes better than the previous day at -3 under par. This marked the best individual round for any Jag golfer throughout the event and helped Lundqvist earn a 15th place finish with a three-day total of 217 (+1 over par). Maria Villanueva Aperribay ended her tournament only two strokes back of Lundqvist, managing to make par for the final round, and earning a 21st place finish. Teresa Diez Moliner finished 28th overall with a score of 221 through three rounds including a +1 finish for today's events, while Napabhach Boon-In finished her final round with an even 72, a two stroke improvement, and 226 overall. Charlotte Alran improved her game again by a stroke for the final round and completed the event with a final score of 231.

The Jaguars will take a break from competition as they won't return to action until after the New Year when they travel to Rio Grande, Puerto Rico for the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (hosted by Purdue) on February 9th.
