Jaguars in Sixth after Battle at the Beach’s Second Day

Augusta Ga. – The Augusta University Women's Golf team sits in sole possession of sixth place after the Day Two of the Battle at the Beach tournament (hosted by TCU). The Jags shot a 292 for the second round, a nine stroke improvement over the first. Their two day total of 595 puts them at +19 over par, only nine strokes back from the top three. Leading the field of 16 teams was Ole Miss shooting +4 over par with a score of 580. Following just behind them is LSU, who held the top spot after day one, at +5 over par. Virginia Tech rounds out the top three for the event at +10 over par (586).

Maria Villanueva Aperribay had an excellent second round of play, shooting -1 under par (71) which was a five stroke improvement on her game from the first day. She sits in 17th overall with a combined score of 147 (+3 over par). Following just behind her are teammates Teresa Diez Moliner and Linda Lundqvist in a tie for 22nd overall. Lundqvist matched Villanueva Aperribay's round with a score of 71, a six stroke improvement to her game, while Diez Moliner shot a 76 on the day (+4 over par) to bring their totals to 148 (+4 over par). Napabhach Boon-In also saw great improvement in the second day, cutting six strokes off and shooting a 74 (+2 over par). Charlotte Alran would also see her stroke total go down one, as she shot a 77 for the round.
