Battle at the Beach Sees Augusta in 9th after Day One

Augusta Ga. – The Augusta University Women's Golf team is in a three-way tie for ninth place after the first day of the Battle at the Beach tournament (hosted by TCU). The Jags shot a 303 in the first round, good for +15 over par. Leading the field of 16 teams was LSU shooting +5 over par with a score of 293. Following just behind them was Texas A&M at +8 over par. Vanderbilt rounded out the top three for the day at +10 over par (298).

Leading the Jags was Teresa Diez Moliner who shot a solid 72, good for par. Her score on the par 72 course was good enough to put her in the top 10 in a tie for 9th place. Maria Villanueva Aperribay finished just four strokes back of Diez Moliner and sits in 31st place, while Linda Lundqvist shot a 77 (+5 over par) and finished the day in 43rd. Charlotte Alran shot a 78 (+6 over par) finishing in 55th place and rounding out the squad was Napabhach Boon-In who finished the first round shooting +8 over par.
