Augusta in Ninth after First Day of Illini Invitational

Medinah, Ill. – The Augusta University Women's Golf team sits in ninth place after the first day fo the Illini Invitational (hosted by Illinois). The Jaguars shot 580 (+4 over par) through the first two rounds of play. Kent State leads the field of 15 at -9 under par, followed by Louisville in second at -6 under. Host Illinois sits in third at -2 under par to round out the top three.

Teresa Diez-Moliner and Linda Lunqvist ended the day as the top two Jag golfers, both shooting a 144 (par) through two rounds and tied for 21st. Diez-Moliner had the lowest single round of the day for Augusta as well, finishing the second round with a score of 70 (-2 under par). Maria Villanueva-Aperribay finish only one stroke behind her teammates at 145, placing her in 25th. Charlotte Alran finished the day with a score of 147 (+3 over par) to finish the first day in 32nd, while Napabhach Boon-In rounds out the squad in a tie for 63rd overall.
