Augusta T10 After Two Rounds At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – For the sixth straight season, the Augusta University women's golf team is competing at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. After two rounds and 36 holes, the Jaguars are tied for 10th place with Iowa State in the 14-team field.

 

No. 11 Kent State has a five shot lead in first place at 4-over-par, ahead of No. 7 Arkansas in second place (+9). Purdue and East Carolina are each 12-over to share a tie for third, and Virginia Tech holds on to fifth place.

 

Hosted by Purdue on the par-72, 6,164-yard course, the LPRC features 14 Division 1 teams – highlighted by four teams ranked in the top 25. Augusta was tied for eighth with NC State after the opening round on Sunday at 12-over-par. Jags junior Linda Lundqvist was tied for sixth through round after carding four birdies.

 

The Jaguars shot 13-over-par in round two on Monday and are 25 shots above par across two rounds. Junior Charlotte Alran is tied for 24th (+4) to lead Augusta heading into Tuesday's third and final round. Alran posted five birdies across the first two rounds. Lundqvist sits tied for 26th (+5) for AU, freshman Natalia Yoko is 41st, sophomore Teresa Diez-Moliner 56th, and senior Cecilia Diez-Moliner 72nd.

 

Augusta tees off in round three on Tuesday, Feb. 12 with Iowa State and Indiana.
